Fox News reported this week that a new poll from Marist shows Vice President Kamala Harris losing ground with minority voters.

This isn't the vice president's only cause for concern, as on Thursday Harris' husband was forced to deny allegations that he was once caught slapping an ex-girlfriend. 

Spokesperson rejects "any suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman"

A spokesman for the second gentleman told Semafor that the "report is untrue" while "any suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman is false."

The Daily Mail has spoken with three people who claim to be friends of Emhoff's ex-girlfriend (identified only as "Jane") and they purport to have knowledge of his alleged actions.

One man recalled receiving a phone call in May of 2012 from Jane in which she recalled an incident at a Cannes Film Festival event.

"It was hard to hear her because she was sobbing. She told me she was with a guy and he hit her," the individual was quoted as saying.

"It was very clear what she was telling me. She said she was with a guy, her date, she was at the Cannes Film Festival, and he hit her," he recounted.

Emhoff said to have hit woman "so hard she spun around"

"She was in the car with the guy at the time. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know whether to call the French police. I couldn't get a hold of her after calling back," he added.

"In later conversations, but pretty contemporaneous with that, she told me more about the guy," the friend continued. "It was something like 3 a.m. They were trying to get out of there and they both had been drinking. There was a gigantic line for taxis."

"She put her hand on the valet’s shoulder, and as she was talking to him, Doug comes up[,] turned her around by her right shoulder, and she was completely caught off guard," he continued.

The friend noted that according to Jane, Emhoff "hauled up" and then proceeded to slap "her so hard she spun around."

Second gentleman previously admitted to cheating on first wife

Meanwhile, two other friends described hearing about the night in question, and they provided the Daily Mail with photos showing Emhoff and Jane together.

This is not the first time that Emhoff has made negative headlines, as the second gentleman admitted to CNN earlier this year that he cheated on his first wife with their children's nanny.
