Far-Left U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) just went public with a dubious defense of Vice President Kamala Harris's Husband - Doug Emhoff. 

Ocasio-Cortez's remarks were such that the New York Post referred to the congresswoman as "slobbering" over Emhoff.

This all comes as Emhoff has found himself at the center of multiple scandals involving women - including one in which he allegedly slapped a woman.

Emhoff, of course, has denied any wrongdoing, and some on the left - such as Ocasio-Cortez - have come to his defense, even though Ocasio-Cortez claims to be a proponent of the "#MeToo" movement.

"What being a man means"

According to Ocasio-Cortez, Emhoff is the epitome of masculinity. She said as much during a recent appearance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

There, the congresswoman said:

He’s not afraid to embody and pass on these values of security and this idea that you can, you can let your girl shine. And he embodies that really well. We should all be really, really proud of him.

Ocasio-Cortez went on to claim that Emhoff has played a positive role in Harris's presidential campaign. Apparently, in Ocasio-Cortez's mind, Emhoff's scandals have helped Harris.

The congresswoman continued:

A lot of ideas of what being a man means putting a woman down or putting queer people down. And this idea that, like, in order to elevate one’s value, we need to diminish the people around us.

Suffice it to say that not everyone views Emhoff this way.

Emhoff has found himself at the center of two major scandals in recent months.

The more recent scandal is the one in which he allegedly slapped a woman.

The other scandal was the cheating scandal. Breitbart reported:

Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, acknowledged that he had cheated on his first wife, film producer Kerstin Emhoff, with their children’s nanny, adding that he “took responsibility” for his actions.

Emhoff, as stated, has vehemently denied the slapping claim, but he has admitted to the cheating scandal. Ocasio-Cortez has not explained how this comports with her view of Emhoff as the perfect man, one that empowers women.
