Officer buys gaming system for 'polite, respectful and truthful' gaming system following encounter
In recent years, many on the political left have taken to vilifying members of law enforcement and in some cases demanding that they be killed.
However, a recent call for police to remove a young man from a residential neighborhood had an outcome that is being universally praised.
Teenager sought yard work to pay for PlayStation
According to The Blaze, the City of Hapeville Police Department put up a statement about an incident involving Officer Eric Colleran and 16-year-old Keonte Evans.
Evans told Colleran that "he was in the area because he wanted to do yard work: pulling weeds, cutting grass and trimming hedges to save up for a PlayStation."

"The young man was polite, respectful and truthful," the police department said in the post. "Colleran, a gamer himself, was impressed with the young man and thought he would help him reach his goal."
Officer says he will play teen online
The statement explained that Colleran and his friends proceeded to buy Evans a gaming system, adding, "Officer Colleran made sure that this young man knew they would play on the same team online soon!"

Evans expresses gratitude for gift
"Somebody did this for you. The game is so expensive. You can’t do anything but be so excited," Evans told the local news outlet.
"So, I gave him a hug. A big hug at that. A very big hug. It’s so sweet," the teenager recalled before adding, "Many people don’t do these things for kids."
Evans went on to say that he is continuing to look for a part-time job in order to help his mother but enjoys playing the gaming system Colleran gifted him with.
For his part, Colleran remarked, "I didn’t do any of this to end up on the news. I was just trying to help him out and let him understand that if you work hard and are honest, good things will come to you."
