RFK Jr. claims he did not ask Harris for a cabinet position

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is now trying to claim that he did not ask Vice President Kamala Harris for a cabinet position.

In case you missed it, the Washington Postthis past week, claimed that Kennedy tried to get Harris to give him a position in her potential administration in exchange for his agreement to drop out of the 2024 presidential race.

Now, however, Kennedy is denying the report.

And, to support his denial, he has released some hard-hitting anti-Harris messages.

Background

The Post published its report on Thursday.

The outlet wrote:

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sought a meeting last week with Democratic nominee Kamala Harris to discuss the possibility of serving in her administration, perhaps as a Cabinet secretary, if he throws his support behind her campaign and she wins, according to Kennedy campaign officials.

The Post goes on to report that "Harris and her advisers have not responded with an offer to meet or shown interest in the proposal."

The Post also claimed that Harris was not the only candidate whom Kennedy has contacted. In essence, if the Post's reporting is accurate, then Kennedy, seeing that his presidential campaign is going nowhere, is trying to find an exit by making a deal with other presidential candidates.

Kennedy is also said to have met up with the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump. But, according to the Post, they did not reach an agreement.

The latest

Kennedy responded to the Post's reporting during his recent TikTok Town Hall event.

There, he said:

That's fake news. I didn't ask Kamala Harris for a Cabinet position but I've reached out to all the candidates. I've met with some. I wanted to meet with all the candidates to talk about dampening down the rhetoric and unifying our country and also talk about some of the issues — ending the wars, et cetera.

Kennedy also posted a hard-hitting message to his X account on Thursday. In the lengthy message, Kennedy, in part, wrote, "VP Harris’s Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to my father and uncle and I cannot reconcile it with my values."

Kennedy went on to elaborate on this statement, comparing and contrasting "Kennedy Democrats" with the likes of Harris. Take a look:
