In August 2022, the FBI raided former President Donald Trump's South Florida Mar-a-Lago resort residence in search of alleged "classified documents" he'd retained after leaving office in 2021.

A conservative legal expert has now theorized how that Mar-a-Lago raid is directly linked to failed 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's false narrative that her political opponent, Trump, colluded with Russia to defeat her, Revolver reported.

Clinton's baseless and subversive accusations against Trump sparked an FBI investigation of his campaign dubbed "Crossfire Hurricane," and the new theory holds that the FBI's raid of Mar-a-Lago was intended to recover declassified documents related to the initial probe that would incriminate Clinton and others for unjustly framing Trump.

FBI's "Crossfire Hurricane" documents the real reason for Mar-a-Lago raid

Mike Davis is a pro-Trump attorney who once clerked for Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and served as a chief counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee before founding the Article III Project that is focused on reforming the federal courts and stocking them with conservative judges.

Last month, in response to an X post about revealing filings being unredacted and publicly released in former President Trump's federal classified documents case, Davis submitted his theory that linked all of the recent Biden administration lawfare against Trump back to Clinton and her false Russian collusion narrative against Trump.

"Again, the reason Biden (illegally) raided Trump is because Trump declassified (via memo on 1/19/2021) and kept his personal copy of his Crossfire Hurricane presidential records," Davis wrote.

He asserted that those Crossfire Hurricane records would prove "devastating" to not just Clinton but also the likes of former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and former FBI Director James Comey, among others.

"They made up the Russian collusion hoax in 2016. Because Russia almost certainly hacked Hillary’s home server. Evidencing her Clinton Foundation foreign corruption as Obama’s Secretary of State," Davis explained. "If Russia leaked the hacked material before the election, Hillary wanted to blame a Trump dirty campaign trick -- falsely accusing him of colluding with Russia."

Davis wasn't quite finished yet, though, as he proceeded to say that "Trump could have publicly disclosed these declassified Crossfire Hurricane records in his civil lawsuit versus Hillary over the Russian-collusion hoax."

Unfortunately, that 2022 lawsuit from former President Trump against Clinton, the Democratic National Committee, and others that could have fully exposed the "criminal conspiracy" against Trump was summarily dismissed by a federal judge before that could happen.

Davis observed that shortly after Trump's lawsuit was filed, a federal magistrate judge signed off on the "unprecedented, unnecessary, and unlawful raid on Trump. For presidential records Trump was allowed to have in the Office of the Former President, per the Presidential Records Act."

"In other words, Obama and Biden have politicized and weaponized law enforcement and intel agencies to interfere in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 presidential elections against Trump. Because Obama and Biden know Trump has the goods on their ongoing Russian-collusion criminal conspiracy," he concluded.

Will the "true culprits" ever be held accountable?

If this theory posited by Davis is true, and recovery of the declassified Crossfire Hurricane records that stemmed from Hillary Clinton's false Trump-Russia collusion narrative -- which has never been substantiated -- is the real reason for the FBI's Mar-a-Lago raid, then Clinton is directly responsible for the Biden administration's current lawfare efforts against the former president.

Revolver pondered: "The burning question now is: will the true culprits, Hillary and Obama, ever face justice for their illegal and immoral actions? It’s a possibility, especially if President Trump truly has his hands on that elusive 'binder' that many believe he does. That would certainly add a whole new dimension to the term 'Trump card,' wouldn’t it?"
