Tim Walz spotted for the first time following election defeat
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) has finally been spotted following his and Vice President Kamala Harris's defeat in the 2024 presidential election.
Fox News reports that Walz was spotted, post-election, on his daughter's Instagram page.
As we will see, Walz's daughter, herself, has also managed to make national news headlines, following her father's defeat.
First, however, we'll start off with the Tim Walz sighting.
"A somber Walz"
Walz did appear at Harris's election concession speech on Wednesday at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Besides that, though, Walz has not been seen in public.
Instead, he has laid low, and he has only posted a brief message on his X account, writing, "Thank you Vice President @KamalaHarris for putting your faith in me, and selecting me as your running mate. Campaigning at your side was the honor and privilege of my life."
Clearly, it would appear that Walz is trying to hide from the public spotlight, and the same could be said about Harris, who also appears to have gone into hiding.
Walz, however, was spotted on his daughter's Instagram page after the election.
Fox reports:
"The Earth keeps spinning and we live to fight another day,' Walz's daughter Hope posted on her Instagram story along with a photo of a somber Walz, wearing a sweatshirt and cargo pants, holding and petting his cat. The video is the first sighting of Walz since he appeared at Harris' concession speech . . .
America "does not deserve..."
As mentioned earlier, Walz's daughter - Hope Walz - has managed to land herself in national news headlines. She did so with a post-election video that she posted to TikTok.
In this video, Hope Walz argued, among other things that America does not deserve Harris.
She said:
Okay, I’m sitting here on my couch, eating SpongeBob mac and cheese, and watching Outer Banks, and I just have a couple, like, initial post-election thoughts. I’ve like officially reached a point of anger, and I’m not an angry person, so I’m just trying to channel it. The first one being, this country does not deserve Kamala Harris. That woman should go live her best life, wherever she wants, doing whatever she wants because we don’t deserve her at this point.
Hope Walz went on to say, "The only people that delivered this election were black women, and we failed them, and it’s just heartbreaking."
Before signing off, Hope also took a shot at President-Elect Donald Trump and Vice President-Elect J.D. Vance. hse said, "These people have to live in their own skin, as in JD Vance and Donald Trump have to be JD Vance and Donald Trump, and that is not a punishment I would wish upon anybody except those two individuals."
