Trump offers succinct, devastating argument for why Harris is disqualified
Donald Trump made a succinct argument for why Kamala Harris should be disqualified from serving as president, saying she cannot lead the country because she "hates" the American people.
"You can't lead America if you don't love Americans," Trump told a crowd in North Carolina on Wednesday. "And you can't be president if you hate the American people."
Trump's devastating response comes after the Harris campaign was blindsided by Joe Biden calling half of Americans "garbage."
Biden calls America "garbage"
Biden made the slip while responding to a joke about Puerto Rico from a comedian at Trump's rally in Madison Square Garden.
“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters," Biden said.
Biden's direct attack on millions of Americans is an unusual example of a sitting president disparaging a huge swath of the nation. But it comes after years of hostile rhetoric blasting Trump and his supporters as racists, Nazis, and "deplorables," as Hillary Clinton infamously said in 2016.
The "garbage" remark overshadowed Harris' closing argument Tuesday night, in which she assailed Trump as a "petty tyrant" and used his name two dozen times in half an hour.
Trump cuts through the spin
Despite comparing Trump to Hitler, Democrats have vehemently denied thinking his supporters are "garbage."
But Trump, in his remarks in North Carolina, said Biden proved that the left "hates" half the country and sees Americans who disagree with them as "subhuman."
“They mean it,” Trump said, “even though, without question, my supporters are far higher quality than crooked Joe or lyin’ Kamala.”
While liberals continue to insist Biden did not say what everyone heard, Trump said the "grossly incompetent" White House has treated the country like "garbage" for the last four years.
“We know it’s what they believe, because look how they’ve treated you," Trump told supporters. "They’ve treated you like garbage. Frankly, they’ve treated you like garbage. You know what the truth is? They treated our whole country like garbage."
In a separate post on X, Trump blasted Harris for running a "campaign of hate."
"While I am running a campaign of positive solutions to save America, Kamala Harris is running a campaign of hate," Trump wrote. "She has spent all week comparing her political opponents to the most evil mass murderers in history."
"Now, on top of everything, Joe Biden calls our supporters 'garbage.' You can't lead America if you don't love the American People. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have shown they are both unfit to be President of the United States."
