Trump suddenly ends interview
Former President Donald Trump recently had to cut an interview short.
If you are familiar with Trump, then you know that this is highly unusual behavior. But, according to Newsweek, there was a very good reason for Trump to terminate the interview.
It turns out that Trump ended the interview because he was in danger. At least, this is what his security details told him. Take a look for yourself, here:
Trump cuts interview with @NewsNation @AliBradleyTV short citing safety concerns.
“We're in danger standing here talking, so let's not talk any longer,” said Trump. "No, I know about it, but they don't want me standing here. They don't want you standing here either.“ pic.twitter.com/2S6Mb8ZNqd

Here is what happened:
The incident, according to The Hill, took place on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024. Trump was participating in an exclusive interview with a NewsNation reporter.
The interview, which was conducted by NewsNation's Ali Bradley, took place at the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump visited the border to witness firsthand the crisis that continues under the administration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
There, at one point, Trump said, "Can I tell you something? We’re in danger standing here talking. So let’s not talk any longer."
"[Security] doesn’t want me standing here. They don’t want you standing here either," the former president added.
That was, essentially, the end of the interview. Trump did, however - before the interview was over - say that he would be honored to be endorsed by independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. - which is exactly what has happened.
Background
The Hill helps to explain what it is that Trump security detail was worried about. It turns out that this has to do with a man who allegedly threatened, via social media, to assassinate Trump.
Per the outlet:
The incident came a day after Arizona law enforcement agencies announced they were conducting a manhunt for an Arizona man who allegedly threatened to kill Trump in a social media post. Officials with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office say they are looking for 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syvrud, who they consider an “investigative lead for threats to kill a presidential candidate.”
ABC News reports that Syvrud has been taken into custody.
"An Arizona man was taken into custody in connection with an alleged social media threat to kill former President Donald Trump, according to officials," the outlet reports.
Further details on the situation have yet to be released.
