President-Elect Donald Trump has official won all swing states in the 2024 presidential election.

Trump, according to Fox News, won the final swing state - Arizona - over the weekend.

As a result, Trump has now scored 312 Electoral College Votes, which is 86 more than his 2024 rival - Vice President Kamala Harris - managed to get. The final tally is 312 to 226.

At the time of this writing, Trump also continues to lead the popular vote tally. He currently has a little less than 75 million votes, whereas Harris is a little over 71 million.

The details

The swing states are Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Pennsylvania. Trump has now won them all.

In Georgia, Trump won 50.74% to 48.52% for Harris, which is a little over 100,000 votes. It was a similar story in North Carolina, which Trump won, 51.10% to 47.74%, which is roughly 200,000 votes.

Trump won Wisconsin, 49.71% to 48.85%. This was a much tighter race that Trump won by only about 30,000 votes. It was also closer in Michigan, where Trump scored 49.74% to Harris's 48.31%, which is about 80,000 votes.

In Pennsylvania, Trump won 50.56% to 48.48%, which is about 150,000 votes. And, finally, Trump won Arizona, 52.35% to 46.62%, which is roughly 200,000 votes.

One thing worth pointing out is that the tally in some of these states, at the time of this writing, is not complete, so these numbers may change slightly. In Arizona, for example, only about 92% of votes have been reported.

Major reversal

Trump's clean sweep of the swing states is a major reversal from what happened when he faced off against President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

Considering Arizona, for example, Fox reports:

President Biden won the state of Arizona by less than one-half of 1% in the 2020 election and the results in the key area of Maricopa County were also slim, with Biden beating Trump by 2%. Before Biden won Arizona in 2020, Republicans had carried the state every year since 1996.

A key issue in the state, according to Politico, was illegal immigration.

Per the outlet:

He campaigned heavily on border security, immigration and crime committed by illegal immigrants on the trail, all issues that resonated in a swing state with a record influx of migrants last year. Trump pledged mass deportations, promoted hiring an additional 10,000 border agents to patrol the U.S.-Mexico border and promised to use some of the military budget for border funding. Arizona is home to the fourth largest population of Hispanic voters, a demographic the former president made gains with in 2024, according to polling.

Meanwhile, commentators still are not really sure what Harris's campaigning platform was. This probably helps to explain her resounding defeat.
