Trump's former CIA officials knew about the false Hunter Biden laptop statement ahead of its publishing

A bombshell revelation regarding the dozens of former intelligence agents who swore in a statement that Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation has rocked the entire narrative.

According to Fox News, former President Donald Trump's CIA chief, Gina Haspel, knew at the time when the 51 intel agents signed the infamous statement that it was a political maneuever.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) revealed the stunning news in a press release this week.

The information came via a report worked up by the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, titled, "The Intelligence Community 51: How CIA Contractors Colluded with The Biden Campaign to Mislead American Voters."

What's going on?

Chairman Jordan, in his press release explained what the report had uncovered regarding the original statement that was "rushed" to be signed by, at the time, current and former intelligence officers.

"We knew that the rushed statement from the 51 former intelligence officials was a political maneuver between the Biden campaign and the intelligence community," the press released said.

It added, "Now with this interim report, we reveal how officials at the highest levels of the CIA were aware of the statement and CIA employees knew that several of the so-called former officials were on active contract with the CIA. The report underscores the risks posed by a weaponized federal government."

It was in 2020 that the large group of intel officers wrote in the statement that Hunter Biden's laptop, a bombshell exclusive story from the New York Post, contained "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation."

Obviously, as the nation would find out for certain, it was a false statement and a clear attempt to protect the Biden family at the time.

"The report reveals new information detailing how the highest levels of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), up to and including then-CIA Director Gina Haspel, were made aware of the 'Public Statement on the Hunter Biden Emails' by 51 former intelligence officials prior to its approval and publication," the press release said.

Chances to vet

The report is even more disturbing in the sense that Trump's top CIA officials, who were aware of the politically-motivated memo, had a chance to vet it and expose it as false. Yet, they didn't.

Fox News noted:

The CIA’s chief operating officer, Andrew Makridis, testified that he informed Haspel or Deputy Director Vaughn Frederick Bishop about the statement ahead of its release, and the report indicates that CIA chiefs had the opportunity to vet the validity of the statement discrediting the laptop of Russian disinformation.

The statement was reportedly concocted as a "talking point" for Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

Only time will tell what happens now that this information has been revealed, and there's probably a lot more to come.
