"Real Housewives of Potomac" star Karen Huger was charged with DUI and DWI after crashing her car on Tuesday night in Maryland.

Huger, 60, reportedly crossed a median and crashed into road signs while driving her 2017 Maserati.

She refused to take a breathalyzer test at the scene and was then arrested for driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and driving while under the influence of alcohol, negligently driving a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner endangering property, life, and person, as well as recklessly driving a vehicle in wanton and willful disregard for the safety of persons and property.

Additionally, she faces charges for failure to control vehicle speed on the highway to avoid a collision, driving a vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on the highway, driving a vehicle on the highway with suspended registration, and failure to notify administration of change of address within 30 days.

In shock

She was taken into custody to be charged, but was released following arraignment.

“At approximately 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, Montgomery County Police 2nd District officers and Fire Rescue responded to the location of Oaklyn Drive and Beeman Woods Way in Potomac for a single-vehicle collision involving a 2017 Maserati,” MCPD public information director Shiera D. Goff said. “The driver, Karen Huger, was taken into custody and transported to the 2nd District station in Bethesda, where she was arrested and cited for driving under the influence. She was then released.”

Despite the many charges, the reality TV star said she lost control of the car while crying over the death of her mother, which she had talked about with a friend over dinner.

"Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes during this very frightening experience. I am still in shock from last night's incident, but grateful to be alive today. With the passing of my Beloved Mother, Grief comes and goes in waves, and with Mother's Day approaching it has felt more like a tsunami," Huger said in a statement about the incident.

Another driver involved?

She also said that another driver almost hit her and she swerved to avoid them.

"Last night I met a girlfriend for dinner, we talked and brought up some very emotionally sensitive topics. I was crying on my way home and saw a car heading right for me. I swerved to avoid the head-on collision, hit the divider, and then a tree. I'm hurt, bruised up a bit, but so grateful I am alive! I did receive citations, one of which was unrelated to the incident which is understandable, but what was most surprising is that the car that almost hit me just drove away!" she added.

Huber advised other drivers to "understand your emotional state" before driving a car, and credited her late mother for being her "guardian angel" through the incident.

Photos released of the scene showed a tree with a chunk out of it and tire marks on a lawn.

Huber just finished shooting the season 8 reunion of her show.

Her parents both died within months of each other in 2017 and 2018.
