Ahead of the 2024 presidential election and with a new Democratic Party candidate at the top of the ticket, the dirty laundry is being revealed by the day.

According to the New York Post, a bombshell report revealed that Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff admitted to cheating on his first wife, who happened to be the family's nanny at the time.

The shocking revelation came after reports surfaced that he had impregnated the nanny at the time, though it was also reported that she "didn't keep the baby."

It was unclear what, exactly, the reports meant by that.

What's going on?

Emhoff admitted that he stepped out on his first wife, Kerstin, over a decade-and-a-half ago with Najen Naylor, the nanny that also taught at a private school where their children attended.

The shocking admission came as opposition research on Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband intensifies ahead of the November election.

Harris secured enough delegate support last week via a virtual conference to crown her as the party's presidential nominee in the wake of President Joe Biden dropping out of the race.

The NY Post noted:

Naylor did not keep the baby, a close friend with direct knowledge of the affair and pregnancy told The Daily Mail. It’s unclear what, exactly, the friend meant.

Hours after the outlet’s report, Emhoff admitted having an affair in a statement to CNN that didn’t name Naylor or address her alleged pregnancy.

Emhoff took full responsibility in the statement to CNN.

"During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions. I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side," the second gentleman said.
