While a recent poll showed Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of former President Donald Trump, the survey showed Harris trailing on several key issues, including crime.

Her choice of running mate is unlikely to improve, with one Republican recently pointing out that he freed a child murderer.

Man fatally shot 11-year-old girl

According to Breitbart, that complaint was put forward by former prosecutor Joe Teirab on Sunday during an interview with Fox Business.

"I think Tim Walz has to answer for this: there’s a man in Minnesota, a criminal named Myon Burrell, and some people might know his story because Myon Burrell's a Bloods criminal street gang member," Teirab said.

"I charged the Bloods in a more recent case," recalled the prosecutor, who is the GOP's nominee in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District.

"Myon Burrell shot and killed an 11-year-old girl who was doing her homework on her kitchen table in Minneapolis," Teirab explained.

Burrell was later bailed out of jail by group Harris promoted

"He was convicted and he did almost 20 years in prison. And, after — he maintained his innocence, which he definitely wasn't. Guess who commuted his sentence? Tim Walz commuted his sentence," Teirab noted.

The Republican candidate then stated that Burrell was later arrested after being caught with drugs and a firearm but was bailed out by the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a group which Harris solicited funds for.

In addition to his handling of Burrell's case, Teirab also accused the governor for having "sat on his hands for multiple days" as far-left rioters ransacked Minneapolis during the summer of 2020.

While Walz used the threat of COVID as an excuse to impose lockdowns, he did little to stop the unrest which claimed multiple lives.

Those victims included one man who was burned alive after 26-year-old Montez Terrial Lee Jr. set fire to a pawnshop on May 28.

Minnesota first lady kept windows open to "smell the burning tires"

Rather than voice condemnation of what had happened, Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz appeared to savor the destruction during a bizarre television interview.

"I could smell the burning tires…I kept the windows open as long as I could because I felt like that was such a touchstone of what was happening," Mrs. Walz said.
