President Joe Biden's deadly and disastrous U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan is still a sore subject that now even Vice President Kamala Harris has to think about as she continues to campaign.

According to the New York Post, former President Donald Trump recently slammed the two leaders for their role in the withdrawal, which resulted in countless lost lives and 13 U.S. troops dead.

The former president laid personal responsibility on Harris and Biden for the deadly events that took place at that time.

He likened the situation to Harris and Biden pulling the "trigger."

What did he say?

Trump, as he usually is, was brutally blunt about his thoughts on what level of responsibility Harris and Biden share for the tragedies that unfolded during the troop pullout, especially the deaths of the 14 U.S. service members.

The former president's opinions on the matter came during an interview with Lex Fridman, a popular podcaster and computer scientist.

The Post noted:

Parents of the 13 had “lost a child because of Biden and because of Kamala, just as though they had a gun in their head because it was so badly handled,” Trump told Fridman.

Trump added, "It should have been done at Bagram, which is a big airbase. It shouldn’t have been done in a small little airport right in the middle of town, where people stormed it."

He hammered Harris and Biden for how they mishandled the situation to a level that ultimately led to the death of U.S. troops, among countless others.

"It’s very sad, actually, because these people shouldn’t have died. They shouldn’t have died. They died because of Biden and because of Kamala. They died just like if they pulled the trigger," Trump told Fridman.

"I don’t know if that’s controversial to say, but I don’t think it is. Afghanistan was the most incompetently run operation I think I’ve ever seen, military or otherwise."

Anniversary

Aug. 26 marked three years since the 13 U.S. service members died as a result of the Biden administration's botched withdrawal, and Trump's campaign released a statement.

One X user wrote, "President Trump respects and cares about our military. The Democratic Party lost all my respect when some of them started claiming that burning flags and dishonoring our national anthem is patriotic; they can't comprehend how disrespectful they are to military families."
