Vice-President-elect J.D. Vance confirmed--maybe accidentally--on Tuesday during a heated exchange with War Room CFO Grace Chong about missing a vote against a Biden judicial recess appointment.

“You guys better show up and do your one fricken job!! @JDVance @marcorubio,” Chong posted after Vance and Rubio missed the vote to confirm Embry J. Kidd, who was controversial.

"When this 11th Circuit vote happened, I was meeting with President Trump to interview multiple positions for our government, including for FBI Director,” Vance wrote on X.

He then pointed out that their votes would not have changed the outcome of the confirmation hearing.

“I tend to think it’s more important to get an FBI director who will dismantle the deep state than it is for Republicans to lose a vote 49-46 rather than 49-45,” he added.

It was not clear whether Vance deleted the tweet because he wasn't supposed to reveal that current director Christopher Wray was on the way out, or if it was because he called Chong a "mouth-breathing imbecile."

Wray is in the middle of a 10-year term that doesn't expire until 2027.

The blame game

Trump clearly blames Wray for the Mar-A-Lago raid in 2022 and other investigations into him during his tenure.

Wray also questioned whether Trump was actually shot by a would-be assassin during a Butler rally.

Trump claimed on Truth Social on July 25 that no one from the FBI ever even checked his ear.

No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!” Trump added.

He has also accused Wray of ignoring signs of President Joe Biden's mental and physical decline.

“Wray said that ‘it is not something I observed during my interactions with him, which were uneventful and unremarkable,’ essentially stating that he found nothing wrong, mentally or physically, with ‘Joe,’” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “If that is the case, Director Wray should resign immediately from the FBI.”

Former Pentagon official Kash Patel and former House Intel Committee head Mike Rogers are believed to be two of the top contenders for the position.
