Seventy percent of Americans believe Trump is keeping his campaign promises
For better or worse, Donald Trump is doing exactly what he promised to do when he got back into the White House.
According to The Daily Mail, 70% of Americans believe that Donald Trump is keeping the promises he made on the campaign trail.
Many even believe that Donald Trump is outperforming the promises he made in the runup to November 2024.
The poll
Conducted by CBS News and YouGov, a recent poll showed that seven in ten Americans is doing exactly what he said he would once back in the White House. Forty-nine percent of people polled said that Donald Trump is actually doing more than expected during his first few weeks in the White House.
Forty-one percent "say he is acting at the rate they expected." Just 9% of the over 2,000 adults surveyed indicated that Donald Trump is doing less than they anticipated.
So, it appears as though Donald Trump is keeping his promises, but are Americans happy that he's doing that?
Approval rating
Trump has been in office for about three weeks now. Despite all of the negative press against him, he's managed to maintain a positive approval rating.
Fifty-three percent of Americans approve of the job Trump has done at the beginning of his second term. The other 47% do NOT approve of what Trump has been doing since he returned to office.
Even if Americans don't agree with all of Trump's promises, they can at least be happy that he's keeping him. Trump didn't mislead anyone on the campaign trail or trick anyone into voting for him.
Donald Trump used the campaign trail to tell Americans exactly what he would do if he stepped back into the White House, and now he's doing them. Even Democrats in America haven't been surprised with the decisions Donald Trump has made.
Trump didn't wait long to act once getting back in the White House. During his first day in office, Donald Trump issued around 200 executive orders to kickstart his second administration.
One dark spot
Despite Americans appreciating Donald Trump keeping his promises and approving of him in general, there remains one big problem spot for many American voters: the increasing cost of goods and services.
Two-thirds of Americans think that Donald Trump is not doing enough to lower prices and reduce inflation, which is why many people voted for him.
Perhaps the issue that Americans are happiest with is how Trump is addressing illegal immigration. Only 13% of Americans think that Donald Trump hasn't done enough about America's illegal immigration problem.
What about you? Do you approve of the job Donald Trump is doing so far in his second term?
