NBC destroyed on social media for claiming Thanksgiving groceries are 'historically affordable'
Any working American who spends money at the grocery store, politics aside, knows that over the past few years, groceries have been significantly higher in cost than they have ever been, making it extremely difficult for families to afford special meals like ones prepared for Thanksgiving.
According to Fox News, NBC News was recently torched for touting this year's Thanksgiving grocery purchases as "historically affordable," which was absolutely not the case and hasn't been for years.
The outlet cited obscure statistics from the American Farm Bureau Federation to make the asinine claim.
Clearly, the outlet didn't interview regular people who are struggling to afford groceries, let alone the ingredients to make any kind of sizeable Thanksgiving dinner.
What's going on?
In the ridiculous article, NBC, a Democrat-friendly, establishment media outlet, claimed that a 10-person family could be fed for Thanksgiving for $58.08, or essentially $5.80 per person.
The outlet didn't do itself any favors by adding, "You may not know it by looking at sticker prices in grocery aisles, but Thanksgiving dinner is more affordable than it has been in years.
It added, "The costs of this year’s holiday feast – estimated at $58.08 for a 10-person gathering, or $5.81 a head – dropped 5% since last year, the lowest level since 2021."
It costs $60 for a family of 4 to eat at McDonalds.
But NBC News wants you to believe that Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people is $58 - the most affordable in 40 years. pic.twitter.com/5IYmL48oQJ

Rightfully so, the liberal media outlet was absolutely blasted by critics -- real Americans who shop and buy groceries -- for being extremely out of touch with reality.
As anyone knows, under President Joe Biden, groceries have been a pain point for a vast majority of American consumers, as inflation records from early on in his presidency seemed to keep prices sky-high without any relief.
Social media reacts
Users across social media had a field day with NBC's idiotic claim.
"If anyone can pay for everything needed for a 10-person Thanksgiving dinner for $58.08, I want to see a picture of all of your groceries," journalist Jennifer Van Laar wrote on X.
Another X user wrote, "$58.08 for a family of ten? What are they serving, air and propaganda? My turkey alone costs more than that. NBC must be shopping in a parallel universe where inflation doesn’t exist."
The sad part is that the low-level employees at the network who are forced to publish such garbage content know it's garbage, and there isn't a working person at NBC who fed their family of 10 for $60 this year for Thanksgiving.
