A popular Australian celebrity and public relations wiz suddenly passed away at a relatively young age, and there are some unanswered questions about the unexpected development.

Jai Evans, 43, a former TV star turned PR and branding genius, was recently found dead in his Sydney apartment, according to the Express.

It has not yet been determined or revealed how or even exactly when Evans died, but the police have reportedly said the matter was not a cause for suspicion.

Police tight-lipped about details of celebrity death

Australia's 7News reported that a police spokesperson said Evans' body was found in his luxury apartment in Sydney on Wednesday and that a coroner's report would soon be publicly released.

"Officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner regarding the death of a 43-year-old man at a unit in Darlinghurst on 4 September 2024," the spokesperson said. "Police will not be making any further comment about the matter."

However, despite claiming there would be no further comment, it was additionally noted by the police that there were "no apparent suspicious circumstances" surrounding the otherwise surprising death.

How and when did he die?

According to the Daily Mail, rumors about the circumstances of Evans' death, particularly when he died and when he was found, immediately began circulating among the PR industry after the news was released.

One theory holds that he died on Sunday and was found a few days later while another belief is that he actually passed away at some point last week and was discovered last Saturday, with that information not being made public until several days later.

The outlet also cited unnamed sources who claimed that Evans had grown uncharacteristically distant in recent weeks and that some of his acquaintances and friends had said that the generally outgoing public figure would "fall off the radar" for several days at a time before eventually re-emerging.

Evans was last seen publicly on August 22 when he attended a dinner alongside contestants he advised from the popular reality TV show "Married at First Sight."

Child actor turned PR guru

According to the Mirror, Evans first became a celebrity when he starred as a child actor in the 1990s on the hit Australian soap opera "Home & Away," though he stepped back from the acting spotlight after that role and focused instead on building a career behind the scenes in public relations plus branding and marketing.

In 2005, at age 24, he founded his own PR firm known as Evans Media and began consulting various well-known media companies and celebrities on PR strategies to help build and market their respective brands.

Per 7News, his LinkedIn account revealed that he also dabbled in work as an advertising manager, magazine editor and publisher, and publicist, among other ventures.

His death was seemingly confirmed by a social media post from a close friend, Australian fitness entrepreneur Dan Wooten, who wrote, "RIP Jai Evans. Another beautiful friend taken much too soon before his time. Your vibrant energy and eagerness to help was second to none. Rest easy, Jai. Love you, mate."
