Former aide to Gov. Kathy Hochul had New York home raided by FBI: Report
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) woke up to a PR crisis this week after one of her former aides had their residence raided by the FBI.
According to the New York Post, Linda Sun, one of Hochul’s former deputy chiefs of staff, had her $3.5 million Long Island home raided by the federal law enforcement agency early Tuesday morning.
Details regarding the raid are scant, as the outlet noted that Sun, nor her husband, have been accused of or charged with any crimes.
It was also noted that authorities did not make any arrests during the early-morning raid, which took place in a swanky, gated community.
What's going on?
While details were scarce, it was noted that the couple owned the large, expensive Long Island home until they transferred it into a trust earlier this year. Whether or not that's connected is unknown.

The federal search warrant was obtained by the US Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn. It was reported that nothing was seized as a result of the raid.
The NY Post noted:
Sun has worked in various government roles across the Empire State for 15 years — including both the Hochul and ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo administrations, according to her LinkedIn profile.
While working as a Hochul aide, Sun focused on business development, Asian American affairs, and diversity, equity and inclusion, her profile shows.
After a career serving the state of New York in various roles, Sun was allegedly fired sometime last year after following "evidence of misconduct."
Interestingly, that alleged misconduct was serious enough that law enforcement was involved, though it's also unclear if that had anything to do with Tuesday morning's FBI raid.
Social media reacts
Users across social media had their own theories, with some of them pondering whether or not the issue was related to yet another spy case, which have seen an uptick in recent years.
"Another undercover spy from across the pond?" one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "I did not have this on my bingo card."
As of this writing, Hochul's office has not spoken on the matter or returned comment to the Post.
