Harrison Ford's Trump-disdain on full display

Harrison Ford may be a very good actor, but like most of Hollywood, he's not a very nice person when it comes to one former GOP president and current presidential candidate for 2024.

Ford made cutting and sarcastic comments about former President and 2024 contender Donald Trump, who complimented him on his 1997 movie "Air Force One" back in 2015 during his first presidential run.

"My favorite was Harrison Ford on the plane," Trump said at the time. "I love Harrison Ford—and not just because he rents my properties. He stood up for America."

Back in 2015, Ford did not comment on Trump's compliment, but when he was promoting "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" later that year after Trump had gained significant support for his run, he found that he did have something to say.

"It's a movie"

"Donald, it was a movie. It's not like this in real life, but how would you know?" Ford said during a pre-release interview when he was asked about the comment again.

Ford also sarcastically referred to him as "the beloved Donald Trump" and joked that he thought Trump was running for "resident" of the United States, not president.

During the general election campaign in 2016, Trump was asked to stop using music from the movie during his rallies and speeches.

Producer Gail Katz reportedly wrote a letter to the campaign asking them to cease and desist from using the music, saying that the legendary Oscar-winning film composer Jerry Goldsmith, who died in 2004, would not want his music associated with Trump's politics.

"Misguided attempt"

"Jerry's music was hijacked in a misguided attempt to associate Trump with the film and the President in that film," she said.

Richard Kraft, who had been Goldsmith's agent before his death, agreed.

"From everything I know about Jerry Goldsmith's political views, he would have been extremely unhappy with Trump co-opting his art to sell his image. Goldsmith composed music to underscore a make-believe, heroic president in [Air Force One], not to help create a phony soundtrack for Trump. He would have been appalled to have his music selling a product he would greatly dislike."

More slights from Ford

That wasn't the last time Ford slammed Trump, although some of his other attempts were relatively funny.

When Jimmy Kimmel trotted out a poster that said Trump called his current film "The Call of the Wild" a "perfect call," Ford said "That's the first thing that son of a [expletive] has done for me—ever. He also slammed Trump over climate change pre-COVID, which isn't surprising.

We get it--Ford doesn't like Trump because he's liberal and Trump is not. It's too bad he can't even take a compliment if he doesn't like where it came from, but that's not surprising given how much Hollywood liberals seem to hate Trump for absolutely no good reason.
