Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spent years making excuses for her devastating 2016 loss to former President Donald Trump.

In her latest memoir, her fourth, Trump is still living rent-free in her head as she opened up about her feelings regarding her major, unexpected loss to Trump at the time.

According to CBS News, an excerpt from her latest memoir shows that she admits the 2016 election loss still has her "shaken," even eight years later when everyone else has moved on.

Clinton, also a former senator and first lady, admitted that she's had a hard time moving on from the loss.

What did she say?

Clinton emphasized in her new book that she believes the Stormy Daniels case is evidence of how close she came to winning the election.

She insisted, as she has many times before, that the "hush money" situation was really "election interference" that she implied cost her the election.

"I got tears in my eyes then, because this man has escaped accountability his entire life," said Clinton.

"The case, which was mistakenly called a 'hush money' case, was an election interference case. Why did he do what he did? He did it to try to keep the information from the American public so that they wouldn't turn away from him and vote for me. So, it's a pretty clear case of election interference."

Clinton went as far as saying his conviction was "karma" for his actions.

"And when you heard that he had been convicted – you're human, there had to be a side of you, after enduring months of 'lock her up,' thinking, This is the person who's actually facing time in jail?" Erin Moriarty asked.

Clinton responded, "Looks like karma to me."

Debate memories

The most recent debate between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris said it reminded her of the times she debated Trump leading up to the 2016 election.

"It was hard, because I had to be responding on the debate stage. But then, I had to be thinking: Now, do I respond to that? He's trying to bait you. It's like that old saying: If you wrestle with a pig in the mud, only the pig comes out happy."

It goes without saying that Clinton will probably write about Trump in every future book she ever authors.
