Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) is getting hit from all angles as he continues to campaign with Vice President Kamala Harris regarding his past actions and words.

According to the New York Post, aside from the fallout from the false claims regarding his military history, Walz now has to contend with a House subpoena related to alleged fraud during the pandemic.

The House Education and Workforce Committee issued a bombshell subpoena this week for Walz regarding a $250 million pandemic fraud scheme that occurred on his watch in Minnesota.

The subpoena demanded that Walz hand over any records related to the scheme and the investigations that took place afterward.

What's going on?

The vice presidential running mate was asked to provide the Republican-led House committee with records regarding funds that were handed out during the pandemic by "the Minnesota Department of Education’s (MDE) administration of federal child nutrition programs (FCNP)."

Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) wrote a letter that accompanied the subpoena.

"The Committee must now compel the production of responsive documents that will show the extent of the actions taken by you and your administration relating to MDE’s administration of the FCNP and the extent of your responsibilities and actions addressing the massive fraud that resulted in the abuse of taxpayer dollars intended for hungry children."

The level of fraud that occurred in his state, while many say he turned a blind eye, was staggering.

The Post noted:

Rather than nourishing hungry children, however, the money funded lavish lifestyles — including fancy cars and real estate holdings as far away as Turkey and Kenya — for the operators of a fraudulent Minneapolis-based nonprofit, Feeding Our Future.

Social media reacts

Users across social media reacted to the subpoena, with many hoping that something comes as a result of it.

"Just hope something is actually prosecuted successfully," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Not good. We need the funds returned."

Only time will tell if Republicans truly hold Walz and those responsible accountable for what happened.
