Ivanka Trump recently revealed a previously unknown fact about her family life that undoubtedly makes her father, former President Donald Trump very proud, namely, that her 97-year-old maternal grandmother is a member of her Miami household, as the Washington Examiner reports.

The former first daughter made the situation known to the general public via a recent Instagram post in which she shared photos of her brood celebrating the birthday of Marie Zelnickova, mother of the late Ivana Trump.

Happy birthday, Grandma Babi!

The social media revelation was a surprise to some, who were unaware of Zelnickova's apparently permanent presence in Ivanka's Florida home.

Captioning a series of photos showing herself and her young family honoring the nonagenarian on her big day, Ivanka began, “Last week we celebrated my Grandma Babi's 97th birthday.”

“We're so lucky to have Babi living with us in Miami these last couple years – I'm thankful for every lesson, every story, and every game night where she still destroys us all at Jenga!” she continued.

Offering an introspective take on her multigenerational living arrangement, Ivanka added, “It's the simple moments together that define the richness of life. I cherish every second!”

New life in Florida

Though Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, had extremely high-profile roles in Donald Trump's presidential administration, they have since relocated to Florida and started a new life outside of politics.

Upon her father's announcement last year that he would indeed seek another term in the Oval Office, Ivanka declared that she did not anticipate assuming a prominent position in the campaign or in any subsequent administration.

“I do not plan to be involved in politics,” Ivanka said at the time.

She added, “While I will always love and support my father, going forward, I will do so outside the political arena,” and her time in recent years seems to have been, at least in part, spent caring for her elderly grandmother.

Reasons to be proud

Ivanka Trump's obvious devotion to her family is likely among the admirable attributes to which former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton referenced when, during a 2016 debate against Donald Trump, she offered praise for her rival's offspring.

As the Independent noted at the time, during an often-contentious back and forth about the issues of the day, Clinton and Trump were asked by debate moderators to say something nice about one another.

“I respect his children, they are incredibly honorable and devoted, Clinton said of Trump. “I don't agree with everything he says but as a mother and grandmother that is very important to me.”

Trump replied that he was indeed “incredibly proud” of his offspring, and his daughter's obvious reverence for her elders is surely among the reasons why.
