Judge doubles down on blocking Biden's Big Tech collusion

Days after blocking the Biden administration from unlawfully colluding with Big Tech, a Trump-appointed judge shot down a request from the White House to lift the order.

The latest ruling from Judge Terry Doughty is another defeat for Biden as he attempts to rescue his illegal censorship regime, which Doughty described as "Orwellian" in a scorching opinion.

Biden's censorship

In his original ruling, the judge cited an extensive record showing that the Biden regime colluded with private companies like Twitter and Facebook to censor speech, in an apparent attempt to get around the First Amendment.

Doughty blocked Biden officials from making contact with Big Tech platforms to solicit the "removal, deletion, suppression, or reduction of content containing protected free speech."

The ruling included exceptions for responding to national security threats and crimes, but that wasn't good enough for the tyrants in the Biden regime.

They appealed the ruling and asked Doughty to lift his block in the meantime, but he refused.

Judge doubles down

In his latest ruling, Doughty rejected Biden's bogus narrative that the injunction stops the government from performing its lawful functions.

The order, which covers individuals like Department of Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas and agencies like the FBI, is "not as broad as it appears," Doughty said.

"It only prohibits something the Defendants have no legal right to do," he said.

The Republican challengers are likely to prove that "all of the enjoined defendants coerced, significantly encouraged, and/or jointly participated [with] social-media companies to suppress social-media posts by American citizens" that expressed dissenting views on various topics.

Speech that was censored included skepticism of COVID vaccines, lockdowns, and the legitimacy of the 2020 election, Doughty noted.

Biden responds

The Department of Justice released a sassy statement complaining about the "vagueness" of the judge's injunction for Biden to stop doing illegal things.

"The court's belief that the injunction forbids only unconstitutional conduct, while protecting the government's lawful prerogatives, rested on a fundamentally erroneous conception of the First Amendment," they said.

But Doughty said the government failed to identify "any specific conduct that they claim is lawful but prevented by the injunction."

For daring to uphold the First Amendment, Doughty has been targeted with a pressure campaign in the leftist media - but it appears he's holding firm.

The battle is far from finished, however, as Biden appears absolutely determined to control what Americans are allowed to say.

" A free people [claim] their rights, as derived from the laws of nature."
