Perjury? Mayorkas caught lying about border crisis

Alejandro Mayorkas has been caught lying to Congress after he admitted to an "acute and immediate" crisis at the border.

Until last week, President Biden's Department of Homeland Security chief had insisted the border was "secure" even as record numbers of illegals poured into the country.

Mayorkas caught lying

As recently as July of this year, Mayorkas testified to Congress that the border was "secure."

In a stark reversal, Mayorkas waived more than 20 federal laws to begin construction on 20 miles of border barrier. In doing so, he cited an "acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries" into the U.S.

It's a dramatic shift from day one of the Biden administration, when Biden canceled the wall and dismissed it as "not a serious policy solution.”

But the constant influx of immigrants, especially into major cities like New York, has made the border a liability for Biden as he seeks re-election. In September, illegal immigration reportedly hit a record high with 260,000 illegals crossings.

Flip flop

With his stark pivot, Biden is quietly admitting that his administration has been lying the past three years and that President Trump was right all along about the border. But of course, they won't admit that openly.

So, they're claiming that Biden's hand was forced by a decision Congress made during the Trump presidency. They insist that nothing has changed, and that walls still don't work.

“The money was appropriated for the border wall,” Biden said. “I can’t stop that."

Mayorkas similarly said that Biden is "compelled to follow the law" by building the wall. Of course, that's not what Mayorkas's previous statement said - it cited an "acute and immediate need," not a decision that the government made years ago.

Still, Mayorkas said he is being "taken out of context" and that the administration has remained consistent about border walls.

"From day one, this Administration has made clear that a border wall is not the answer," he said.

In any case, it's incredibly ironic for Biden and Mayorkas to say they are just scrupulously following the law after the last three years of open borders insanity.

The only reason they flip flopped is that an election is coming up - but they're too afraid to come clean.

Is there any lie they won't tell?
