Tucker Carlson set to host GOP presidential forum
The Blaze reported this week that Tucker Carlson is scheduled to host a forum featuring most of the Republican Party's 2024 presidential contenders.
Billed as a collaboration between Blaze Media and the FAMiLY Leader, the event is scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14 and will be live streamed on BlazeTV as well as the company's YouTube channel.
One-on-one conversations between candidates and Carlson
"Blaze Media is teaming up with THE FAMiLY LEADER to bring you the first presidential forum of the 2024 Republican Primary season, hosted by Tucker Carlson," The Blaze declared in a tweet on Monday.

Carlson will speak "one-on-one" with a collection of GOP hopefuls, including Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Arkansas Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Vice President Mike Pence, South Carolina Republican Sen. Tim Scott, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
"Following the presidential forum, stay tuned for a special episode of 'Glenn TV,' with an intimate conversation with Tucker Carlson that you don't want to miss," The Blaze added.
Trump will not participate in forum
Meanwhile, The Blaze noted that the first Republican presidential primary debate is planned for August 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The conservative news outlet explained that candidates who wish to participate must meet a set of criteria related to fundraising and poll numbers. What's more, they have to publicly pledge to support whoever the party ultimately nominates.
One figure who will be conspicuously absent from Friday's forum is former President Donald Trump, who most surveys rank as the GOP's clear frontrunner.
However, Trump did generate headlines in May when he went to New Hampshire for a town hall event hosted by CNN.
Trump earned praise from conservatives for his CNN town hall performance
I love the Talking point by Team DeSantis that Trump can’t debate. He literally debated CNN at their town hall and took their lunch money. Ron won’t take interviews from anyone that could be hostile towards him.

While Trump's performance won praise from many conservatives, CNN was denounced by Democrats for giving the former president a platform.
They included New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who tweeted that the network "should be ashamed of themselves."
CNN should be ashamed of themselves.
They have lost total control of this “town hall” to again be manipulated into platforming election disinformation, defenses of Jan 6th, and a public attack on a sexual abuse victim.
The audience is cheering him on and laughing at the host.
