Democrats, who are feeling frustrated, are once again seeking for ways to remove officials from office whose motions do not accord with the ideology of the Democratic Party.

Unfortunately for members of the "Squad," trying to remove a high-ranking official, such as a Supreme Court Justice, from their position is not as simple as a cruel girl isolating someone who has criticized her, as Fox News reported.

According to Fox News, Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York vowed to file articles of impeachment against the Supreme Court following the decision handed down on Monday regarding the immunity of former President Donald Trump.

AOC's Anxiety

"The Supreme Court has become consumed by a corruption crisis beyond its control," Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

"Today’s ruling represents an assault on American democracy. It is up to Congress to defend our nation from this authoritarian capture. I intend on filing articles of impeachment upon our return."

A president is guaranteed "absolute immunity" from prosecution for "actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority."

The Ruling

According to the court's ruling, his protection was established by the Constitution and only upheld by the nation's high court.

Under the circumstances of the case, the court concluded that a president is also entitled to "presumptive immunity" for official activities in general.

According to the decision made by the court, there is no immunity for actions that are not part of the official duties of the president.

Reporters attempted to contact Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's congressional office to seek clarification on the exact individuals that she plans to impeach; however, they did not receive a response immediately.

Reaction from Other Dems

Other Democratic members of Congress joined Ocasio-Cortez in expressing their disappointment with the Supreme Court's ruling.

Among them was House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) who promised in a similar statement that "House Democrats will engage in aggressive oversight and legislative activity with respect to the Supreme Court to ensure that the extreme, far-right justices in the majority are brought into compliance with the Constitution."

"Today’s Supreme Court decision to grant legal immunity to a former President for crimes committed using his official power sets a dangerous precedent for the future of our nation," Jeffries said.

Representing the Senate

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, another Democrat from New York, expressed a similar sentiment in the upper chamber of Congress when he wrote on X about his frustration with the case.

"This is a sad day for America and a sad day for our democracy," Schumer said. "The very basis of our judicial system is that no one is above the law. Treason or incitement of an insurrection should not be considered a core constitutional power afforded to a president."

The question of whether any of Trump's alleged actions were within the scope of his constitutional authority remains open after the court's decision, which delegated this decision to a lower court.
