Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich just published an opinion piece, through Fox News, in which he argued that Hunter Biden is likely to have a major impact on the 2024 presidential election. 

Gingrich's article is titled, Hunter Biden just did his part to help decide 2024 election.

Gingrich, in the piece, argues that various narratives surrounding Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden are likely to result in not only former President Donald Trump winning the 2024 Republican presidential primary but also the U.S. presidency.

Gingrich writes, "This week, Hunter Biden did his share to help Trump become the Republican nominee. Future revelations of Biden family corruption are likely to put Trump back in the White House."

The "sweetheart plea deal"

One thing that Gingrich touched upon in his article is the recent plea deal that President Biden's Department of Justice (DOJ) has arranged with President Biden's son, Hunter Biden. In exchange for a guilty plea to a tax offense and gun-related offense, Hunter Biden will avoid jail time.

Gingrich, in the article, contrasts this lax treatment of Hunter Biden by the DOJ with its heavy-handed treatment of Trump. Trump, after all, is facing 400 years of jail time for alleged classified documents offenses that others - including Hillary Clinton - have not been prosecuted for.

Gingrich writes:

This stark contrast in the Biden administration’s selective use of the justice system will prove to be astonishingly destructive politically. It will only strengthen former President Donald Trump and weaken President Biden.

Gingrich went on to argue that there will be an American backlash - presumably at the polls - to the Hunter Biden plea deal situation.

Gingrich, in his article, went on to highlight the fact that Hunter Biden's tax and gun offenses are relatively small change compared to some of the other allegations that Hunter Biden - and the Biden family in general - are facing.

Gingrich writes:

Further, these so-called personal mistakes by Hunter Biden pale in comparison to the much more serious questions about his professional life. Why did the widow of the Mayor of Moscow send him $3.5 million? Why did Burisma put him on the board when he knows nothing about natural gas or Ukraine? What did he do to earn money from Kazakhstan and Romania? Why did a Chinese oligarch send him a diamond? Why did the Bidens set up so many shell companies if they aren’t trying to hide the flow of foreign money?

Gingrich also puts forth some even bigger questions: "What did Hunter Biden do to have the after-tax income to pay off more than $2 million in taxes and penalties? This leads to the question: What has he been earning out of his supposed art, and who has been paying for it?"

The answer to these questions remains to be seen. But, Gingrich expressed his opinion that Americans are no longer going to let the Bidens get away with all of this.

Gingrich argued that Americans, in 2024, will turn to Trump as "the symbol of Americans being attacked and oppressed by their own government."
